The Lament of the Clouds

The clouds overlooked all the events to be seen
but the clouds uninvited -- questioned why?
The clouds began to darken with their impending mood
the tears filled them up
and they started to cry.

Diminutive ducks in small black suits
dancing in a pond beneath a weeping sky.
Singing and romancing
upon a mirror -- reflecting the clouds drifting by
but as for the clouds -- they continue to cry.

Leather skinned men in fine green trousers
smiling a wide toothless grin.
Serenading their sweethearts
upon a carpet of moss so thin
but as for the clouds -- they continue to cry.

A fairy like lass with captivating eyes
flying free through the air without any wings.
A mesmerized lad
watches her beneath the tree -- sitting upon the swing
but as for the clouds -- they continue to cry.

Life goes on in unusual ways
beneath the darkened skies.
Perhaps your outlook on life -- and imagination
is where your happiness lies
even when the clouds do cry.
