The Wind and The Chime

Carefully carved fragments of wood
hung one by one.
Many hollowed out pieces
dancing in the sun.

The soft, evening wind
keeps her rendezvous with me.
We make our own music
as she dances gracefully.

Wherever she comes from
she must soon return there.
She leaves only her memory
my belle of the air.

I stand here alone
and feel my body sway.
It's my own lady love
coming back to me to play.
