Dancing With Death

Hushed soothing air saunters about
Echoes of a heartbeat that begin to flutter
In anticipation of life's termination
Which empty eyes visualize

Visions clouded yet mystifying
Season a silver tongue with reason
Graceful gestures and overtures
Rendered from the darkest heart

Thoughts never ending twist in my mind
Up and down passages that have worn with time
Delirious with fever that quells up inside
A dance with death -- mingle and twine
