Looking Glass Faces

Looking glass faces
Leer secretly with discerning eyes
Lips with no need of voices
Full of contempt
Immune to my cries

Impenetrable in a protective disguise
Etching faces to mask the lines
A smile overtakes the audience
Ever watchful looking glass faces
Peer over whitewashed fences

Attempts at nobility
Fail to conceal the person I hide
Unable to cover the acts of shame
Continuous stares of looking glass faces
Reminders of the faults I bare

Escape is a vain attempt
Peace eludes me as I discern
All seeing eyes in looking glass faces
Dancing with excitement
At the sound of my pain
