Hand Me Downs

There is no need for your tears, for your not all alone
Within each of your lives I will always be found
With every breath that you take, every moment you live
You each hold a part of me -- look all around

A familiar movement remembered, or a smile just like mine
The color of your hair, or a curl intertwined
When you look into the mirror, are those your eyes or mine?
Watch yourselves carefully and I will be brought to your mind

As your lives endure and your families expand
Don't give into the belief that I am unable to share
As you look down into that new little face --
A part of myself is right there -- even though you're unaware
